Brown Rice Protein

A plant protein separated from brown rice, common in dairy-free bars and shakes. It is an isolated fraction rather than a whole food, but the isolation is mechanical and the result is simply the protein portion of the grain.

SafeProteinNatural

also known as Rice protein concentrate

Brown rice protein is produced by treating milled rice with enzymes that break down the starch, then separating and drying the protein that remains. Nothing synthetic is added in the process.

It is lower in lysine than dairy protein, which is why formulators often pair it with pea protein — the two together give a more complete amino acid profile. Seeing both on one label is a sign of deliberate formulation rather than a shortcut.

Why it’s classified this way

Classified Safe: the separation is enzymatic and mechanical, with nothing synthetic added.
